This is chapter 8 of Rabbi Eliyahu Touger's book As a New Day Breaks, in which the author states: "…from the time Israel received the Torah, our task has been to prepare ourselves and the world for Redemption." This is said to be Judaism's message to the world today.

This article considers the antagonism often provoked in non-Jews by what for some is a 'racist' concept. The author attempts to explain why this antagonism is ill-founded.

It is here understood that in their acceptance of the Torah the Jewish people "…assume the responsibility of bringing the world to perfection by deeds, worship, and study." It is noted that anyone may if they choose become a Jew, although God does not require it. Nevertheless, it was by "…establishing the Jewish people…" that steered humanity away from its "…critical path."
